'True Detective' HBO News: Fans Weigh In On Upcoming Season 3 Cast? [VIDEO]
True Detective hasn't even debuted its second season and already fans are preparing mash-ups for potential season 3 pairings.

Through the summer of 2014 Twitter was buzzing with True Detective memes and casting speculation, including a great deal of joke pairings for the upcoming season. Now that production is underway, it looks like HBO's reluctance to share a release date has caused viewers to return to that old past-time.
From George Bush and Michelle Obama to unlikely animals, imaginations have truly soared when it comes to pairings for the HBO crime drama. Political pairings were particularly popular, though they weren't the only ones sought out by viewers.
Will 'True Detective' Become A Book?
In addition to political and comedic pairings, there were naturally a few adorable pics as well. From tough looking little kids to the escaped Arizona llamas from Feb. 26, people seem to have come with just about every possibility.
Of course, the official cast for season 2 remains set in stone with Vince Vaughn (career criminal Vince Vaughn), Colin Farrell (Detective Ray Velcoro), Rachel McAdams (Detective Ani Bezzerides) and Taylor Kitsch (Officer Paul Woodrugh) set to star. Creator Nic Pizzolatto has written all the episodes, with Fast and Furious alum Justin Lin directing the premiere.
True Detective will return on. HBO for a second season mid-2015.
