This will pose as a point of tension in the episode, titled "Breath Play," as Meg will not take the news very well. In the clip, Kate is seen in a very emotional state as she is trying to convince Meg that she will not lose any importance on account of the baby.

"We're changing our dynamic, but no one's going anywhere," she says all teary-eyed. "Nothing that's happened to you has been fair, and I know that, but I also know that you are the greatest thing that's ever happened to me and you are going to be an amazing big sister. An addition to our family is not a replacement, okay?"

Meg doesn't seem to buy Kate's plea, and is pretty defiant on the phone.

Here's the official synopsis for the episode:

"The BAU is called to Wisconsin in search of a serial killer, and the team looks for a connection among the victims for clues to the UnSub. Also, Kate has trouble dealing with her niece, Meg, when she begins acting out."

Previously, in an interview, showrunner Erica Messer had revealed that Hewitt's pregnancy will be written into the upcoming episodes of Criminal Minds for her character Kate.

TVGuide reported this bit of exciting news revealing that this development in Kate's arc will be introduced in 17 of the chapter. Messer spoke to the entertainment website about how they will build it up.

"She's been acting out a little bit, and we reveal ... it's because Kate is gonna have a baby," Messer said. "The fact that she and Chris decide to have a baby rocks Meg a little bit. Even though she's been raised by amazing people, there's an underlying abandonment since her parents were killed when she was very young. She's trying to deal with that and being 13 and navigate the world and see her place in it."Not to mention being stalked by a network of online predators, the season-long unsubs, that nearly snatched her last month. "All of that is by design," Messer says. "We might hit it again before the finale."

The episode will air on March 11 on CBS.
