Fifty Shades Darker, the second film installment, has experienced a delay in production and actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have been told to plan on an early 2016 shoot for a 2017 release.
On Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter announced that the studio is in search of a new director because Sam Taylor-Johnson is not expected to return after her continued battle with James.

The site also reported that original screenwriter Kelly Marcel will also be quitting and because there is no script, production has been delayed.
Earlier this month, a source told the The Latino Post that the relationship between James and Taylor has become "absolutely toxic" and the ladies have grown to despise each other.
Back in January, Variety reported that the delay is a result of James wanting more creative control in the writing process and apparently she has yet to reach an agreement with Universal executives.
"The studio had always intended to sit down with the author after the film opened and discuss next steps, and that has not yet happened," said a Universal spokesman.
Universal execs are predicting that Fifty Shades Darker will hit theaters in 2017, possibly around Valentine's Day. An official released date has yet to be confirmed, so be sure to check in for more updates.
