Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski has sparked a lot of reaction after some viewers believe that she made excuses for the students chanting racist slurs about African Americans.

After a YouTube video surfaced of University of Oklahoma SAE fraternity members singing a racist song about refusing to accept black members into their organization, people around their world have been voicing their opinions about the situation.

Rapper Waka Flocka Flame decided to cancel his performance at the SAE fraternity after the video was aired for the world to see.

During Wednesday morning's segment of Morning Joe, Brzezinski thought that the rapper should take some responsibility since he has performed for the frat once before and probably used racial slurs (specifically the "N word") in some of his lyrics.

"He shouldn't be disgusted with them," she demanded, "he should be disgusted with himself."

Willie Geist, who was deemed the panel's in-house expert on rap music served as the voice of reason and made it clear that Flame's lyrics and the racial chant are not to be fit into the same category.

"There is a distinction between a bunch of white kids chanting about hanging someone from a tree, using that term," Geist said, "and Waka Flocka Flame using it."

Brzezinski has since gone on clean up duty to set the record straight about what she meant behind her statement. The co-host spoke with Rev. Al Sharpton on MSNBC to clarify that the frat boys are to be held accountable for their actions.

"The students in the video are responsible for their behavior," she clarified during a segment on The Cycle. "They did it. In no way is anyone else to blame for what they did on that bus."

Was Brzezinski making an excuse for the fraternity members or was she simply trying to put an end to racial slurs in general?
