Christina Aguilera has faced intense scrutiny for her constantly fluctuating weight, but she has revealed she told her record executives to get used to working with a "fat girl."

In a new interview with Billboard Magazine, Aguilera opens up about her weight and body issues and admits that after years of being told her body dictated how well her albums would do, she put her foot down.

"[I told the executives], 'You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it," Aguilera said.

She said she will no longer allow her body to be a factor or topic of discussion among anyone at her record company.

"They need a reminder sometimes that I don't belong to them. It's my body," she said. "My body can't put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore - my body is just not on the table that way anymore."

Aguilera, 31, was known for her pin-thin frame in the early years of her career, particularly during work on her second album, "Stripped," which featured skimpy costumes.

"'During the promotion of 'Stripped' in 2002 I got tired of being a skinny, white girl," she said. "I am Ecuadorian but people felt so safe passing me off as a skinny, blue-eyed white girl."

The pressure weighed on her, and eventually Aguilera moved closed toward her natural body shape.

"The next time my label saw me, I was heavier, darker and full of piercings," she said. "Let me tell you, that wasn't an easy pill for them to swallow. I had gained about 15 pounds during promotion and during my 'Stripped' tour. They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight."

That's when Aguilera felt the pressure of her body affecting others, which she said she never wants to feel again.

"They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight," she said. "Basically, they told me I would effect a lot of people if I gained weight - the production, musical directors. [They claimed] people I toured with would also miss out if I gained weight because I would sell no records or tickets for my shows."

Now fully comfortable in her own skin, Aguilera is set to release her latest studio album, "Lotus," on Nov. 13.
