It looks like Derek Phillips will be returning as Travis Murphy on Longmire this season.

How Katee Sackhoff Is Getting Ready For The Return Of 'Longmire'

On Friday the actor made an announcement on Twitter stating he will most likely be returning for production in May.

This means Travis won't be appearing in the first few episodes, though he will turn up later as the season continues. One star glad to see Phillips return is Louanne Stephens, who plays Ruby on the popular crime drama. She declared that his reprisal of the role is "great news" and Phillips promptly responded by declaring that the drinks will be on him.

The future of Longmire became uncertain back in 2014 after the series was cancelled by A&E. The decision came as a shock to many fans, particularly since the program had been the network's highest-rated scripted series at the time of cancellation. For months viewers kept the spirit of the show alive through social media campaigns and in November their prayers were answered when Netflix decided to give the program a new home.

Production is set to begin in New Mexico at the end of the month.

Longmire will likely return for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
