The book festival proved to be a great way to get into the spirit of things, helping Phillips and Taylor to get excited about going back to New Mexico.

Cast and crew are thrilled to be returning for another season this year, particularly since the show's future remained uncertain for quite a while.

In 2014 A&E surprised fans when it decided to cancel Longmire following the end of its third season. This decision was made despite the fact that the show had been the network's highest-rated scripted series at the time. After overwhelming support poured in from fans via social media, Netflix decided to step in and revive the program in November.

Production is set to begin in New Mexico by the end of the month.

Longmire will likely return for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
