It looks like the writers are confident with the season they've put together for Longmire this year.

'Longmire' Preparing For Production With Right 'State Of Mind'?

On March 14 writer Tony Tost posted a playful dare on Twitter, warning that Santa Fe, New Mexico and season four should "look out." Then, for fun, Tost added a photo of him and series regular Adam Bartley, known for playing The Ferg on the popular crime drama.

Derek Phillips Returning As Travis Murphy On 'Longmire' This Season?

After four months of writing and preproduction, things in Santa Fe will finally get underway this month. Production is slated to begin at the end of March.

The road to season four has been a rocky one. In 2014 A&E surprised fans by cancelling Longmire shortly after its third season ended. The program had been the network's highest-rated scripted series at the time and immediately fans flocked to social media and took a stance to defend their beloved show, launching petitions and the #LongLiveLongmire hashtag in order to keep the spirit of the series alive.

All that hard work eventually paid off. In November, Netflix announced that it would be housing the program for its fourth season and soon after that the writers, including Tost, got back to work drafting the new episodes.

Longmire will likely return for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
