Christina Aguilera Weight: Singer's Rep Denies Aguilera Called Herself A 'Fat Girl'
Christina Aguilera made news this week when reports poured in claiming the singer had called herself a "fat girl" and opened up about her frequent fluctuations in weight.
But a spokeswoman for the "Your Body" singer has denied the story and said those reports are "100 percent false."
Reports claimed Aguilera had given a revealing interview to Billboard Magazine about pressure from her record company to stay thin, but it seems that is not the case.
"She never said [the quotes]," Aguilera's spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly.
Many of the false quotes portrayed Aguilera standing up to her record label and fighting their expectations of what her figure should be.
One such fabricated statement was: "I told them during this Lotus recording, 'You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it.' They need a reminder sometimes that I don't belong to them. It's my body. My body can't put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore - my body is just not on the table that way anymore."
The reports also claimed Aguilera faced scrutiny from executives after she gained weight following promotion from her second album, "Stripped," in 2002, when she was recognizable worldwide for her thin frame and scantily-clad wardrobe.
Another false quote stated: "The next time my label saw me, I was heavier, darker and full of piercings. Let me tell you, that wasn't an easy pill for them to swallow. I had gained about 15 pounds during promotion and during my 'Stripped' tour. They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight."
Now that the interview with Billboard Magazine has been posted online in full, there is no mention of any of those quotes or anything similar in the story.
Aguilera is currently preparing to release her newest studio album, "Lotus," which is scheduled to hit stores on Nov. 13.
