He might be known as Christian Grey to his legions of fans from around the world thanks to the hit film, 50 Shades of Grey, but Jamie Dornan is also known for his much deeper and darker roles on both the small and big screen. The Irish actor recently revealed that he is worried about all the "sick psychopath" roles he's been taking lately.

According to the Guardian on Wednesday, Dornan said that along with his role as Paul Spector in the hit BBC drama The Fall, he's been playing a lot of characters with deep, emotional issues and that's a fact that's apparently beginning to bother him.

He said, "I consider myself quite light-hearted, pretty easy-going, and I keep playing sick psychopath bastards! It kinda worries me sometimes how comfortable I am in that zone."

Production For 'Fifty Shades Darker' Should Begin Soon

Dornan, who is married to British actress Amelia Warner, also dismissed his critics who said that starring in the film version of 50 Shades of Grey would hurt his acting career.

He said, "You know, I'm not naive as to why people would think it was a bad [career] choice, or why there is a snobbery about it. But I'm also not stupid, and I knew with [director] Sam [Taylor-Johnson], and [cinematographer] Seamus McGarvey, the film would be in safe hands. And, you know, it does no harm to be in a film that makes half a billion dollars."

He also says that he is willing to star in the film's sequel although he hasn't signed his name on the dotted line just yet.

"That was always the plan," he replied. As far as director Sam Taylor Johnson coming back, he said, "The plan was always for her to do them, so hopefully that will happen. But I don't think it's going to be imminent."
