‘The Dovekeepers’ News: Author Alice Hoffman Discusses Mini-Series, ‘I Haven’t Seen The Final Cut’ [VIDEO]

Hoffman recently partook in a Twitter live chat to answer some fan questions about the upcoming premiere of the CBS mini-series.
On Wednesday, Hoffman shared her thoughts on turning her novel into a visual project and more.

The author revealed that her characters are based more on "the emotion and the psychology."

In The Dovekeepers the characters all have interesting stories to tell of struggle and strength. Plus, there's the whole cultural aspect, which Hoffman admitted she "felt a certain pressure" with telling the stories of certain characters.
"I definitely felt it was a real cultural story," Hoffman shared of her novel that's about to hit the small screen.

The author revealed that she hasn't "seen the final cut yet" of the soon-to-be aired mini-series. She did add that what she has seen "made her very happy" though.
"As a novelist you have to give up control," she added.

Hoffman is excited to see her female characters come to life since there is so much depth to them.
"For me it was beautiful to see these women come to life," she gushed.

She also touched on regardless of the story being Jewish-based, it's more than that.
"I think it's about survival and love and faith and it doesn't stick to one particular religion," she shared.

The Dovekeepers premieres on March 31 at 9 p.m. ET and concludes on April 1.
Each night it will run for two hours.
