The pair released a statement on their separation that gives insight that there is no serious bad blood between them.

"We will always love each other and be best friends; however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the statement says.

The site also posted what Patton had to say about the split when she was previously on Good Morning America. There's a good chance that things were difficult before, but it appears that she's picked up the pieces to get her life together again.

"I'm doing really well," she said. "I mean, the honest truth is it has been challenging, but it's been a year of growth, lots of healing, learning about all new things, but I've come out of it stronger."

Last summer, Thicke spoke to Good Morning America about his upcoming music and how it shows that there can be a light at the end of the tunnel following his failed relationship.

"Well, the album- I didn't want it to be all depressing because I didn't want [Paula] to listen to it and make her sad only, you know," the singer said, posted on E! News. "So I wanted there to be moments where she had hope and positivity that her and I can both still have a great life. No matter what happens, we'll be great friends and great parents."
