"Harry Potter's" Emma Watson has reportedly grown increasingly frustrated over the continuous rumors involving her potentially playing Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of E.L. James' racy novel "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Speaking at a press conference on Sept. 27, the 22-year-old actress took the opportunity to respond to the non-stop "Fifty Shades" speculation.

"I don't know how many times I have to reiterate... I literally don't know how many times I have to say it. I must have said it in 20 interviews now. I'm NOT attached to it. I don't know why this keeps coming up over and over again," she said.

Although Watson did state in the past that she's flattered by the "Fifty Shades" chatter, the actress still remains confused on just how her attachment to the Anastasia Steele character came into fruition.

"It's flattering in the sense that people are excited about what I'm going to do in the future, but I just don't know where this thing has come from at all. I can't seem to shake it. I haven't read the book. I haven't been sent a script. I haven't been approached."

Watson has been considered a strong contender for the part mainly due to her sweetness and innocence mixed with a bit of edginess. In July, the New York Daily News reported that Watson was the front runner for the role. The Brit was also said to be "a hot favorite to be chosen by producers Mike de Luca and Dana Brunetti."

Up until this point in the casting process, E.L. James and her team of producers on the upcoming feature film have stayed relatively mum on the details. Only time will truly tell who lands the highly-anticipated role of Anastasia Steele alongside the equally important part of the billionaire Christian Grey.
