Paris Jackson Wig: The Miley Cyrus-Style Haircut Photo on Twitter Wasn't Actually Real
Paris Jackson caused an online buzz this week when it appeared she had pulled a Miley Cyrus and chopped off her long locks, but it seems the controversial haircut didn't actually happen.
Jackson, who is the daughter of international music superstar Michael Jackson, posted a photo to her Twitter account that appeared to feature a dramatic new hairstyle. Jackson's typically long hair seemed to be chopped into a much shorter, bob-style 'do.
But the 14-year-old didn't actually cut off all her long locks. The hair in the photo was only a wig, according to Dennis Christen, the producer of "Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys," an upcoming film in which Jackson will star. Christen confirmed to The Huffington Post though Jackson's press representative that Jackson hadn't actually cut her hair.
The photo in question drew comparisons to Miley Cyrus, who made waves earlier this summer when she cut off her hair and debuted an edgy, platinum blonde bomb on Twitter.
Some people thought Jackson was copying Cyrus with a new hairstyle after she tweeted her admiration of Cyrus' hair.
"I don't know why people keep hating on miley's new cut.. i love it !! shes being herself & shes being different & i love her for that !" Jackson tweeted on Aug. 19.
When Jackson received some negative feedback and comments from her social media followers who thought the haircut was real, she sent out a tweet that seemed to indicate she had cut off her hair to donate it to an organization like Locks of Love.
"That awkward moment when everyone is saying no to doing the right thing...... if i want to cut my hair and donate it i'd appreciate SOME support," she wrote on Twitter.
