'X Factor New Zealand' 2015: Will There Be More Controversy On Series After New Judge Defends Use Of Blackface? [VIDEO]
It appears that The X Factor New Zealand drama isn't over yet.
Natalia Kills & Willy Moon Fired From 'X Factor' After Bullying A Contestant
Natalia Kills and her husband, Willy Moon, recently got fired from the series as judges after they took their criticism way too far on a contestant. They were then replaced by recording artist Natalie Bassingthwaighte and I Am Giant member Shelton Woolright. While this may have seemed like a good fresh start, one of them is apparently already making some controversy.
On Friday, Perez Hilton posted some snapshots of Woolright with the use of blackface- a form of makeup used to represent a black person, which has been a sign of racism.

The site posted what Woolright had to say about taking on this form where he defended this practice.
"My love of music and creativity means I have become not only a drummer in a hard rock band, but also a photographer and artist," the drummer stated. "The black face paint has been part of my stage performance for various shows and videos and has been a developing concept. As with my full body tattoos, it has been a form of expression and a point of difference."
This may or may not create a damper for Woolright's appearance on the singing competition mainly since there was already enough controversy going on. When Kills was a judge, she told a contestant that he made her "sick" for taking on a similar approach to her husband.
