Despite many reports to the contrary, Nicole Kidman says she didn't counsel Katie Holmes as she prepared to divorce Tom Cruise.

When news of Holmes' separation from Cruise hit tabloids this summer, speculation ran rampant that Kidman, who was Cruise's second wife, offered Holmes advice as she prepared to leave her husband.

But in a new interview with the Australian magazine Who, Kidman denied that she ever spoke to Holmes during the divorce or any other time about her relationship with the 50-year-old actor.

"I never spoke to her," Kidman said about Holmes. "I wish all of them well, but I was not involved in any of that."

Kidman's comments came on the same day new court documents revealed fresh details about Holmes' marriage to Cruise, including that the relationship had "broken down irretrievably" six months before the divorce.

It's likely Kidman would have had plenty to say if she had in fact spoken to Holmes, considering Kidman's high-profile divorce from Cruise dominated tabloid headlines just as Holmes' did.

In the interview with Who, the 45-year-old Kidman opened up about the depression she suffered when her relationship began crumbling around her.

"I got married really fast and really young," Kidman said. "But I don't regret that because it got me [my children] Bella and Connor and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period. Then when it didn't work out I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression. I have no regrets about all of it. It was all part of growing up."

But Kidman was sure to add that even though the end of the marriage was incredibly painful, she feels blessed to have enjoyed many good years with Cruise and their children.

"There were times following [the divorce] when I thought, 'Wow, this is the loneliest, loneliest existence,'" she said. "But with Tom, it was a fantastic decade. I wish all of the people that have been involved in my life well, because it's very important to me to be in a place of forgiveness and love."
