She showed up in Port Charles with the new shocking new that she was Jake's (Billy Miller) wife-but the truth about Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) isn't what it seems on General Hospital.
Jake Stunned About Hayden's Arrival
When Jake (really Jason Morgan) finally became freed from Helena's mind control, he was ready to finally move on with his love life, something that has been non-existence since he woke up in Port Charles. And with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) finally becoming single after she broke things off with Ric (Rick Hearst), the two were free to explore their romance-until Hayden arrived with her big announcement.
Now, after telling a tale about fighting with her husband before his accident, Hayden has left Liz and Jake alone to process the news that he's married-only to arrive at the house of whoever has hired her to fool Jake into thinking he is married and confirm that the story was well-sold, and Liz and Jake will be apart soon enough.
"They bought it," she says in the clip.
Likely, the person orchestrating the deception is Ric, who didn't take the break-up well, and vowed to do whatever it took to get Liz back.
Meanwhile, as potentially Ric and Hayden celebrate their successful dupe, Jake and Elizabeth are heartbroken that once again, fate has intervened to keep them apart. And though the timing seems suspicious, the two will agree that Jake needs to work on making sure he can fix his relationship with his wife before he considers any relationship with someone else.
"I don't want you to be married," Liz says in the clip.
