Fans might have been shocked when Vernon Turner was suddenly killed on Fox's Empire season finale; and actor Malik Yoba is not happy about it.

Yoba didn't hold back in an interview following the finale and said he doesn't think his character should be killed off.

"[Me and Taraji P. Henson] finally had a scene together in the season finale. Like it took 12 episodes...that's the kind of [stuff] to me where I was like 'You don't see the value in making amazing moments between these actors.' It's bad enough y'all haven't wrote anything real significant that I can sink my teeth into. People don't even know who Vernon was."

Vernon, who played close friend to lead Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), was killed by the hand of Lucious' daughter-in-law, Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday). She was defending her husband Andre (Lucious' older son) after she walked in on the two fighting. By the end of the finale, no one knew about Vernon's death except Rhonda and Andre.

Yoba continued and said that while the show's co-creators Lee Daniels and Danny Strong have a huge say in what happens in the story lines, it's really head writer Ilene Chaiken who calls the shots.

"She runs the writer's room, she's in charge of hiring the directors and oversees the whole creative process of the show. So, I was definitely like 'Dude? Really? There's no way we can like..that's the story.'"

Yoba has also starred in hit series like New York Undercover and Girlfriends.
