Cote de Pablo stars in this mini-series as Shirah and this role marks her return to CBS since she departed from NCIS.

On Friday, Yahoo! TV chatted with the star and revealed some of the scoop she mentioned about the mini-series.

Cote de Pablo Discusses Her Return To CBS With 'The Dovekeepers'

"I fell in love with the book," de Pablo dished, adding, "I think I read the book in a day and a half, two days. I didn't sleep. I didn't eat. I just read the book and I was completely enamored by the characters and I fell in love with the story and I had to do it."

While the story of The Dovekeepers is quite serious and touches on love, loss and plenty of action, funny moments happened while filming and de Pablo revealed her favorite one.

"Rachel Brosnahan (Yael in the mini-series) had these doves in her hands and she wouldn't let them go. Ever. And I remember telling her, 'Rachel, I think maybe the doves should be freed. I think the doves should be allowed to fly and not be in your hands the entire time.' She said, 'You have no idea how comfortable they are.'"

De Pablo then felt the doves in her costar's hands and "they really were just loving being held."

The Dovekeepers is a two-night special, airing Tuesday night and Wednesday night, April 1 at 9 p.m. ET with each night running for two hours.
