He's currently involved in a very ugly battle with his ex-wife Michelle. In the latest news, according to TMZ earlier Wednesday (April 1), he wants to pull the plug on the spousal support he has been handing her. Apparently she threatened to release extremely embarrassing photos (including one of him nude) and even footage that Howard is reportedly afraid could damage his career. It's at an all-time high since starring as the lead male in Empire, arguably the biggest new show of the year.

The site also reported that the only reason he even agreed to pay Michelle the intensely high amount was because of her blackmailing threats.

Howard is said to be making his first move against Michelle later this month.

Howard and the head of his legal team, Brian Kramer, both say that Michelle was only supposed to get six months of spousal support considering they divorced just a year after tying the knot. But she got more than quadruple that when he gave her spousal support for five years. Howard reportedly hopes that could serve as a hint that she is blackmailing him.

TMZ also reported Monday that Michelle is only supposed to receive $5,800 each month under their agreement. But if they continue, she'll get even more because of Empire's juggernaut success. She apparently receives 21 percent of anything Howard earns that goes over $62,500 for the first three months of this year. According to Michelle, Howard made $125,000 each episode, three of which were taped this year.
