Bam Margera Apologizes for Tweeting Cruel Puppy Photo
Bam Margera proved once again that he was a "Jackass."
Margera, one of the stars of MTV's "Jackass", upset animal rights groups and many other Twitter users when he posted a shocking photo of himself with a puppy.
The photo posted on Wednesday depicts Margera holding a gun to his dog Penny's head with a caption: "Penny pooped in my bed. Not too fond of that. If it happens again, Penny goes Bye Byes."
Margera's Pennsylvania neighbors didn't respond well to the apparent joke. SPCA spokesman Rich Britton from Chester County said the picture was "not funny" and that the he "missed the mark on this one," according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The "Jackass" star said it was all a joke and that he loves animals and his eight week old pit bull puppy. Margera claims the gun used in the photo is a fake and responded to the incident saying, "I feel like every follower I have on Twitter [more than 800,000] knows my 'Jackass' joking kind of humor."
Margera hasn't removed the photo from his Twitter account which also shows other pictures of himself pointing the fake gun at his friends. He defended himself saying that he is an animal lover who in addition to his puppy has numerous cats. "I think those people need to go down," Margera said. "Just hurting another animal is rude, crude, and more."
Another recent photo of Margera and one of his cats named "Trouble" was tweeted by @Production where he hold a gun to the cat's chin saying: "Me n @BAM__MARGERA went looking for trouble . . . We found him . . . Now he is going bye bye . . ."
