After eight or more weeks of deliberation, the prosecution team in the Aaron Hernandez murder trial have finally rested their case and jurors could potentially reach a verdict as early as next week.

Shayanna Jenkins Says She Removed Box From Home At Request Of Aaron Hernandez

After calling multiple witnesses to the stands, including Hernandez's fiancée Shayanna Jenkins, the prosecutors have concluded that Hernandez and his two friends, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, picked Lloyd up at his home in Boston, drove him to the industrial park, and shot him to death.

Back in January, the former NFL football player arrived in court for opening statements regarding his trial and prosecutors have presented surveillance video and texts that allegedly prove that Hernandez had been feuding with the victim in the days leading to his death.

Prosecution Team Calls Aaron Hernandez's Friend To Testify Against Defense Team

On Thursday, NBC Sports reported that Judge E. Susan Garsh told jurors that the case will resume on Monday and she also added that they would be getting the case next week.

When court resumes on Monday, all of the following will occur: the defense case, the rebuttal case and closing arguments, by the end of the week.

The site reported that when court resumes on Monday, the defense will present their case if they choose.

Even if convicted of the murder or acquitted of the charges, Hernandez will remain behind bars due to the fact that he is facing two other murder charges for allegedly killing two men back in July of 2012.

Hernandez signed a $40 million contract as a tight end with the Patriots back in 2010.
