House of Cards is coming back with its fourth season in 2016.

Bill Clinton Endorses House of Cards, Says It Is '99 Percent' Real

The announcement was made via the show's offical Twitter account, with a promise to not let all of Frank Underwood's (Kevins Spacey) hard (bloody) work go to waste. "I will leave a legacy. #Underwood2016" states the caption for the image announcing the return of the show.

We wonder if things will continue to spiral out of control in the next season, and the Underwoods plunge into greater depths of doom. Season 3 ended on as dark a note as can be, and there has been no word yet on how the plot will evolve, or the direction the writers intend on taking moving forward.

In a recent interview with the Daily Beast showrunner Beau Willimon adressed the contentious points in the show.

Fans who haven't binge-watched the show, bewarned of spoilers. Willimon spoke about a scene which comes disturbingly close to sexual violence between Frank and Claire. The showrunner dished about what went onto share what inspired the scene and what it meant to convey about the relationship of the couple.

"The scariest thing for us, narratively, was to take the core of this show, its greatest strength-this unorthodox, unholy union between these two people-and see it break apart," Willimon said. "It had to be violent, and not just physically, but psychologically. What we're seeing is a rift. It's had 28 years to grow stronger, and through the course of a very short amount of time in the White House, it's come apart."
