Oliver (Stephen Amell) might be in two minds about taking Ra's al Ghul's offer, but the big baddie won't relent.

H.I.V.E To 'Present Big-Time Difficulties' For Team Arrow

Recently a preview for the bunch of episodes leading up to the finale of season 3 of Arrow was unveiled, and as it moved along, there was a scene where Oliver is bound up, stoic yet betraying a sense of nervousness and defeat on is face. He is topless, his arms tied up.

There has been all manner of speculation on the internet about Oliver's response to Ra's al Ghul's offer to have him lead the League of Assassins. A TVLine report had hinted that someone would be kidnapped by Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) in the future, the images from the preview suggest Oliver will be held captive again. If that is the turn the storyline takes, there is hoping Oliver defeats Ra's al Ghul in fair combat. It has also been suggested that Ra's al Ghul is not immortal, unlike the DC universe.

Oliver And Felicity Hook Up In Upcoming Episodes Of Arrow

Speaking to TVLine, Guggenheim revealed that the villain could die in the upcoming episodes of the show, as opposed to the belief that they would keep him alive in keeping with the storylines of the DC universe. The question suggested that it was something of an impossibility, to kill off Ra's al Ghul, and that DC comics would not be in agreement with such a twist. Guggenheim suggested that that was not the case and that they had all the creative freedom to do as they pleased with the character.

"The truth of the matter is that DC is our partner, and they've been a wonderful partner," he said. "They've never told us who has to die or who has to live - and I don't anticipate that changing any time soon. What we do with Ra's as far as whether or not he lives or dies will be based solely on a creative decision that we make for the good of the show, and has nothing to do with the greater forces at DC.

But then there has also been speculation about Oliver actually taking up Ra's al Ghul's offer. The International Business Times and Comic Book Movie recently revealed on-set images, which show Oliver with The Flash, but dressed in a different attire, which the publications speculate is his new Assasins garb, very much inspired by Ra's al Ghul.

The next episode, 'Broken Arrow' will air on April 8.
