On Monday, CBC News thought of a few names that could actually be pretty fitting for the new child of royalty. With a lot of buzz going around that the baby might be a girl, here are the three names that may be considered: Alice, Charlotte or Elizabeth.
If William and Kate are having a boy, then a couple names to look into are James or Arthur- middle names of William and his father.
Did Kate Middleton Announce When Her Second Baby Was Due?
The reason why the name Alice is being speculated is because Queen Victoria apparently thought that was "one of the most attractive girl's names" and named her second daughter that, according to blogger Carolyn Harris.
This Alice also had a granddaughter Alice of Battenberg who had princess-turned-queen Elizabeth as her daughter-in-law. There is also Alice of Athlone, one of Victoria's granddaughters who has a Canadian connection.
As for the name Charlotte, this would be fitting for a couple close members of the family.
"Charlotte would be the feminine version of Charles so it would certainly honor Prince William's father," Harris said. Charlotte also happens to be the middle of name of Kate's sister Pippa.
Kate is expected to give birth to her second child sometime later this month.
