'Arrow' Season 3 Spoilers: What We Know So Far About The Final Episodes [VIDEO]
If we are to judge by the hints we've gotten so far, fans should expect a whole lot of unexpected in the final episodes of season 3 of Arrow.
Somethings have been made pretty evident by the preview for the final five episodes and those twists are enticing in themselves. For instance Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) will be hooking up in the upcoming episodes. The duo are shown getting very intimate in the clip, leading up to them making love.
Oliver is heard saying that he will help Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) break out of jail. Even Roy's farther is seen telling him he wants to help get him out of jail, a proposition Roy rejects. In fact there has also been rumours of the possibility of Roy being killed off in the upcoming episodes, as there had been some buzz about goodbyes and farewells on the show.
Ray Palmer aka The Atom (Brandon Routh) is also shown both in his superhero suit and without, at one point even high-fiving Oliver about joining the team. The most crucial bits involve the looming decision that Oliver needs to make, Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) is shown ruthlessly determined as ever. Thea is seen confronting Ra's al Ghul, letting him know that Oliver, her brother, was going to kill him. Ra's al Ghul scoffs at her suggestion, saying Oliver was going to beg him.
Now coming to the heart of the matter, will Oliver accept or reject Ra's al Ghul's offer?
There has been all manner of speculation on the internet about Oliver's response to Ra's al Ghul's offer to have him lead the League of Assassins. A TVLine report had hinted that someone would be kidnapped by Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) in the future, the images from the preview suggest Oliver will be held captive again. If that is the turn the storyline takes, there is hoping Oliver defeats Ra's al Ghul in fair combat. It has also been suggested that Ra's al Ghul is not immortal, unlike the DC universe.
Speaking to TVLine, Guggenheim revealed that the villain could die in the upcoming episodes of the show, as opposed to the belief that they would keep him alive in keeping with the storylines of the DC universe. The question suggested that it was something of an impossibility, to kill off Ra's al Ghul, and that DC comics would not be in agreement with such a twist. Guggenheim suggested that that was not the case and that they had all the creative freedom to do as they pleased with the character.
"The truth of the matter is that DC is our partner, and they've been a wonderful partner," he said. "They've never told us who has to die or who has to live - and I don't anticipate that changing any time soon. What we do with Ra's as far as whether or not he lives or dies will be based solely on a creative decision that we make for the good of the show, and has nothing to do with the greater forces at DC.
But then there has also been speculation about Oliver actually taking up Ra's al Ghul's offer. The International Business Times and Comic Book Movie recently revealed on-set images, which show Oliver with The Flash, but dressed in a different attire, which the publications speculate is his new Assasins garb, very much inspired by Ra's al Ghul.
The next episode, titled 'Broken Arrow' will air on April 8.
