Jill Duggar News 2015: New Mom Admits Her Birth ‘Didn’t Go As Planned’ [VIDEO]
Jill Duggar was hoping for a natural birth at home, but unfortunately things didn't go as planned for her when her son was born two weeks past his due date. The reality television star admits that she didn't want to give birth at a medical facility, but ultimately made the decision to get induced during her 42nd week of her pregnancy as her newborn baby Israel David simply didn't want to come out.
Father Derick Dillard 'Over The Moon' About His Newborn Son
According to Us Weekly on Wednesday, Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard welcomed their son late on Monday night. The couple shared a video from her hospital bed explaining exactly what went down in the delivery room.
Dillard began by saying, "Hey everybody, it's Derick and Jill Dillard, and we've got an exciting birth announcement."

Duggar then chimed in with, "We're so excited to announce the birth of our son, Israel David Dillard. He weighs a whopping 9 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 23 inches in length."
She added, "Not everything went as expected. We were reminded of the verse that the Bible talks about where man plans his way but the Lord directs his steps. We were encouraged by that and yeah, he's just a handsome little fellow."
And while she says she is grateful for the hospital care she received thanks to all the medical professionals who took care of her post-birth, she does admit that she would rather have given birth in the comfort of her own home with the help of a midwife.
She explained, "I feel like it will be way more relaxing... and having the baby at home with a midwife provides more of that personal care. It's more intimate for the couple as well, getting to be in your own environment."
This is the first child for Duggar and Dillard. The couple got married back in June of last year in front of 1000 of their closest friends and family. They announced their pregnancy only one month after tying the knot.
