Katie Holmes Takes A Ride On The New York City Subway [PHOTO]
Katie Holmes is becoming more of a true New Yorker every day, and she took the next step this week by going for a ride on the subway alone.
Holmes has been spotted out and about in New York, most of the time with her daughter Suri, ever since she divorced Tom Cruise and left Los Angeles. But she's usually either on foot or using a driver, and this week marks the first time she's been spotted - or at least been photographed - using the mass transit system.

Holmes tried to go incognito as she wore large sunglasses and kept her eyes trained on her cell phone, but subway riders nonetheless snapped photos of the 33-year-old actress.
The former Mrs. Tom Cruise is only the most recent celebrity to slum it with regular New York residents and hop on the train. Jay-Z caused a ruckus recently when he took the subway to his final performance at Brooklyn's brand new Barclays Center.
Holmes was also spotted this week walking 6-year-old daughter Suri home from her brand new school, the Avenues academy in Chelsea.

The pricy education reportedly comes with a $39,750-per-year price tag. Avenues is a brand new school that accepted its first 700 pupils this year, Suri included, and the facilities - which include a rooftop playground and a gym with volleyball and basketball courts - is only blocks from Holmes' apartment building in Chelsea.
A source close to Holmes said she talked with Suri about all the school's facilities over the last few weeks to get her daughter excited about attending.
"Katie has eagerly been telling Suri all about the lunchrooms, basketball courts and different activities Avenues offers. Suri's really excited about it," the source said.
