‘The Voice’ Season 8 Live Playoffs Results: Top 12 Announced, Including Brian Johnson, Rob Taylor, Joshua Davis & Others Who Are ‘Speechless’ [VIDEOS]
The live shows for The Voice Season 8 kicked off Monday with performances from Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams' teams and then continued Tuesday with performances from Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine's teams, which led to the reveal of the Top 12 Wednesday night.
Was Christina Aguilera 'Proud' Of Her Team's Performances During 'The Voice' Live Playoffs?
During the live show Wednesday, Voice alumnus Chris Jamison returned to perform alongside Wiz Khalifa "See You Again" from Furious 7 and each team took the stage too. Team Blake sang "I'll Take You There," while Team Xtina tackled Madonna's "Like a Prayer," like pros. Team Pharrell gave a stunning performance of "Say Something" and Team Adam performed "Diamonds" by Rihanna.
Below is the rundown of the contestants that have made it into the Top 12.
Which 'Voice' Contestants Are Earning Praise From Nick Jonas, Matt McAndrew & More?
Team Blake's Hannah Kirby was saved as well as Corey Kent White and Meghan Linsey, whom the public voted through.
"Things are crazy," Kirby announced on Twitter after the revealing of who made the Top 12.
She also thanked Shelton for picking her when he could have picked Sarah Potenza or Brooke Adee even.
"It means the world to me to be on your team," she gushed to her coach.
Team Xtina's Kimberly Nichole and India Carney received the public's votes, but the powerhouse vocalist of a coach had to pick between Rob Taylor, Sonic and Lexi Davila. She ultimately went with Taylor who was floored by her decision.
"So excited!" Taylor tweeted, along with sharing his appreciation for all the support he's been receiving.
Team Pharrell has been narrowed down to Sawyer Fredericks and Mia Z, who earned the public's votes and their coach saved Koryn Hawthorne, which sent home Lowell Oakley and Caitlin Caporale.
Regardless of being sent home, Oakley has a positive outlook. Oakley tweeted, "we win, we praise Him we lose, we praise Him".
The last team's fate to be determined was Levine's and the public saved Joshua Davis and Deanna Johnson.
"I'm speechless," Davis tweeted, which is probably exactly how Levine's saved contestant Brian Johnson is feeling too.
Levine kept Brian over Nathan Hermida and Tonya Boyd-Cannon, which came as a huge shock to many. Brian was ecstatic though as he shared via Instagram, "Is this real life?!?"
Tune in on Mondays and Tuesdays starting at 8 p.m. ET for Season 8 of The Voice on NBC.
