While fans are just about wrapping their heads around the craziness that was season 3 of House of Cards, work on the next chapter is well underway.

Claire To Murder Frank In Season 4?

It was recently revealed that Netflix renewed the show for season 4, but while it is news to the rest of the world, showrunner Beau Willimon didn't even need the heads up as him and his writing team had started work in advance.

"Official - S4 of @HouseofCards announced. But the writers & I have been secretly writing for months hehe. @netflix," he tweeted on April 2.

Showrunner Responds To Criticism Of Rachel's Murder

So it seems like the plot is already laid out, and hopefully some spoilers will surface in time. It is also rumoured that filming for season 4 will begin during summer.

The official announcement of the show's renewal was made via the show's offical Twitter account, with a promise to not let all of Frank Underwood's (Kevins Spacey) hard (bloody) work go to waste. "I will leave a legacy. #Underwood2016" stated the caption for the image announcing the return of the show. Season 4 will be premiere in 2016, the exact date has been set yet.

In other very recent news, it was revealed that the show has been nominated for a BAFTA 2015 in the international series category.
