'Real Housewives of Orange County:' Slade Smiley's Son's Cancer Treatment, Gretchen Rossi Says He's Fighting
Slade Smiley's son,12-year-old Grayson, is in the hospital for a rare brain tumor he has been battling since 2005.
"He is fighting hard," his mother Michelle Arroyo told RadarOnline. "Grayson is a good little soldier."
Smiley makes a regular appearance on "The Real Housewives of Orange County" and is dating one of the show's stars, Gretchen Rossi.
Grayson is being treated at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and on Oct. 9, he underwent brain surgery. Smiley and Arroyo have fought over child support for several years, however, Smiley claims he does not make a high enough income to contribute to his son's medical bills. Arroyo would not comment on her legal woes with Smiley.
"That is the least of anyone's concerns," she said to RadarOnline.
The family seems to have come together to support, who Smiley's girlfriend has called, "this brave little boy," as well as each other.
Rossi updated her Twitter followers about Grayson's condition.
On Oct. 11, she tweeted, "Thank you to everyone for your kind words and prayers during this difficult time. Gray has been in serious condition the last few days after surgery, but is putting up a good fight. The hospital and nurses who have been taking care of Gray have been so kind to Michelle, Slade and I, and other family members, during our long hours at the hospital.
"We would like to thank the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation and everyone that has donated or has helped us raise funds to support Gray and his on going medical needs. The whole family has come together this week to be by Gray's bedside in New York while he continues to fight. Please keep praying for a full recovery for this brave little boy."
Arroyo has faith that Grayson's treatment will be successful, saying, "Grayson is a warrior."
