Amanda Todd Death: Bullied Teen Who Posted Video on YouTube Commits Suicide [Video]
In tragic news, Amanda Todd, a Vancouver-area teen was found dead on Wednesday night in Coquitlam, Canada. Local authorities believe it to be a suicide. Todd had put up a story on YouTube in September about being bullied.
On the video, the teen expressed her unfortunate circumstances of being bullied both on the web and in person. In one situation, someone even coerced her into flashing at a camera. The unknown man allegedly went on to blackmail her on Facebook. He stated that if Todd didn't put on a provocative show for him, then he would leak the photo of her topless.
Shockingly, the individual knew of her address, school, relatives, friends, and the names of the members of her family. When Todd didn't comply with the demands, her nude photo was soon sent "to everyone."
Due to the respective threat, the late teen communicates that she developed anxiety, depression and disorders, which led to the use of drugs and alcohol.
"Cried every night, lost all my friends and respect people had for me... again... then nobody liked me," she wrote.
In an attempt to put the bullying behind her, the teen ended up switching schools and found a new set of friends. However, her efforts turned out to be unsuccessful, as the bullying reportedly began again.
This time around, Todd responded to the stress by cutting herself. Nonetheless, she even changed schools once again, and matters reportedly got worse, as she was beaten up by a group of girls who were associated with a boy she had flirted with.
"Kids filmed it. I was all alone and left on the ground. Teachers ran over but I just went and layed in a ditch and my dad found me," Todd further elaborated.
The teen tried anti-depressants and counseling, which reportedly still didn't put her at ease. A Facebook page with the title "Rest In Paradise Amanda Michelle Todd" was put together and has received nearly 11,000 likes and counting. The wall also has numerous messages of condolence.
