On Saturday, Mashable reported that owners of the breed gathered with their pups on Huntington Beach, California for 9th Annual Corgi Beach Day.
The 4-hour event trended on Twitter with the hashtag #SoCalCorgiBeachDay and over 500 of the dogs participated.

Most of the dogs were decked out in dog swimwear and visors for the sunny event. In 2013, only 300 dogs were reported to show up to the event.
Some dogs were spotted hanging out in any shade while others rolled around in the water and seemingly having a blast.
Underneath a "So Cal Corgi Nation" banner was an 8-year-old Corgi greeting guests.
"He's the official host and reason we're all here," said Dan McLemore, who organizes the event with his wife, Kelly.
When a Corgi owner at the event was asked what made her adopt a corgi, her response to Orange County Register was: "I was just obsessed with them for a really long time, and I told my husband, 'We're getting one.' And that was it."
The group will gather for a second time on July 11th at Huntington Dog Beach as well as at a Corgi pool party at a pet resort in August.
"I don't really know how it's gotten as big as it has," McLemore said. "I'm just glad it happened."
