Nikko Smith's wife Margeaux has officially landed on VH1's Love & Hip Hop Atlanta roster and she has lots to say about her marriage to Smith.

Speaking to VH1 she said, "I'm Nikko's wife. That's how you know me. That's not how everyone knows me, but I can't escape that. I just don't want to be tied down to some guy. Even if he's my husband."

The Toronto, Canada native added that she and Smith were "the best of friends" before they officially became husband and wife. But they were still young, so they weren't always the best spouses to one another. Interestingly enough, fans didn't find out about Margeaux until news hit the Internet that he was secretly married. Before then, he and Mimi Faust were in a serious relationship.

She added that she tried to steer clear of being on the show, but eventually changed her mind.

"I'm not a fighter, unless I have to defend myself. I just don't care what anyone thinks about me. I'm my own person, I'm my own woman. Yeah I'm married to Nikko, but I don't have a man putting a battery in my back."

She closed it out saying that, "This season is gonna be nuts, wild...So you have to watch."

While she seems to be trying to be independent of her connection to Smith, the two have their own dramatic moments this season.

In a teaser released by the network,

"Every single day you do stuff I never thought you would do."

Smith responds, "I'm sorry, you're still my wife and I love you."
