One Direction Reveals They Were Bad In School: Zayn Malik Was The Worst?
Boy band wonder One Direction has fans cheering them on constantly and their success is not to be doubted, however, they admitted that their naughty behavior in school almost led to criminal records for the singers.
Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson admitted on a U.S. radio show that they all got in trouble when they were in school, The Daily Record reported.
Malik, 19, said he got caught smuggling a "dangerous pellet gun" into Tong High School in Bradford, West Yorksire, saying on air, "I once got in trouble for having a BB gun at school. I didn't shoot anyone, I just had it."
"It wasn't even mine bit I got done for having an imitation firearm," he added.
Horan, 19, then admitted that he was once suspended from his Catholic all-boys school, Colaiste Mhuire, in Ireland, and that he was warned that he could face expulsion if he kept up his antics.
"I maybe stole something when I was at school...I was not a bad boy but I got suspended for two days for general messing about," he said. "I talked too much, which probably got me in trouble."
As for Tomlinson - he got suspended once for a week because he flashed his bottom at a school performance of "Grease."
The other band members, Liam Payne and Harry Styles, stayed relatively mum on the topic, however.
The band released their newest single, "Live While We're Young," in September and it took the radio airways and internet by storm. At time of publication, the song's official music video on Youtube, released by OneDirectionVEVO, had over 58 million views.
They are also scheduled to be in a Pepsi television commercial campaign, in which they will be featured alongside NFL player Drew Brees. The commercial shows the band and Brees fighting over the last can of soda, with the football player then suggesting that that he join the boy band.
The commercial has yet to air on television but here is a sneak peak:
