If you spend plenty of time on the Internet you must know about the viral meme "Success Kid," which features a baby making a fist and sporting a face of triumph.

Well, that baby is not much of a baby anymore. Sammy Griner is now 8 years old and his dad Justin needs a kidney transplant to continue living.

Griner's wife Laney launched a GoFundMe campaign on April 8 asking for $75,000, but they have exceeded that amount.

On Tuesday, Laney told ABC News that because of her son's popularity on the Internet through the meme, the campaign to raise funds to go toward Justin's medical needs has been successful.

"It's just all been really amazing," Sammy's mother said, adding, "It never stops being weird, and it never stops being awesome."

Justin is 39 years old and has been on dialysis for six years, which Laney revealed is "wearing on him."

He knew his kidneys were failing before Sammy was even born.

"I just want to get him healthy," she stated.

The GoFundMe campaign has over 3,000 donations and is at over $82,000 and counting in only about a week's time!

On the campaign's page, Laney pleaded, "Please help us reach our goal so that Justin may get the pre-treatments and transplant he desperately needs. His mother died from this disease, please help us write a different story for Justin and his son, Sam," which has definitely been accomplished.
