In One Flight Down a plane crash will occur as noted in thepress release and it will trigger memories for Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) because in Season 8 during the finale called Flight, they were in a plane crash with a few other doctors, which resulted in the deaths of Dr. Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) and Dr. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane).
Many of the doctors that were not involved in that situation are still very much unaware of what went on so the plane crash occurring in this new episode will shed light on a lot.
Would Kate Walsh Every Return To 'Grey's Anatomy'?
On Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly revealed some insight from Capshaw, Sarah Drew (Dr. April Kepner), Jerrika Hinton (Dr. Stephanie Edwards) and Camilla Luddington (Dr. Jo Wilson), among others.
"She's scared, overwhelmed, and not feeling great," Capshaw shared of her character reacting to the plane crash at hand.
Drew dished that the medical staff that wasn't involved in the original plane crash will really "step up" in the hospital since the other doctors who were part of the crash that led to losing some of their own are struggling.
"[They] recognize that it's rough for them," Drew stated.
"In this episode, the details get revealed to characters around them that were not aware of exactly what went down, so you see everyone's reactions to that," Luddington revealed.
"We end up learning way more about the plane crash because before it was just gossip, whispers on the wall-literally because the hospital was renamed for the people that passed away that we never met. Now we get to know enough about them to make them full people," Hinton added.
Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
