Obama on Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey Feud: President Discusses Fight on The Yo! Show [REPLAY]
Just a day before the second Presidential debate, President Barack Obama weighed in on Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj's American Idol feud on Monday.
Obama appeared on Miami's radio show "The Yo! Show" with DJ Michael Yo where he was asked about the feud.
"I think that they are going to be able to sort it out, I am confident," Obama said. "I'm all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they're moving forward and not going backwards."
The President added that Carey has played some gigs for the First Family.
"She's a wonderful lady," Obama said about Carey. "Nicki I don't know, but I've got her on my iPod," he added.
Mariah and Nicki had an argument over a contestant's performance and it was caught on tape.
Before the feud was captured on film, Minaj told Carey, "I'm gonna knock you out," according to TMZ. Then, according to MouthToEars.com, Carey made jabs at Minaj and called her a b**ch. At one point, Minaj walked off set and production of "American Idol" was halted for the day so the two judges could cool off.
In the video Minaj says, "So every time you patronize me, I'm-ma take it back, and if you've got a f**king problem, handle it. I told them I'm not f**kin' putting up with her f**king highness over there. Figure it the f**k out. Figure it out. I'm not gonna sit here every f**king minute to have you come down and harass me every minute everyday."
Carey is talking back at Minaj in the video but it's difficult to understand what she's saying.
Since the feud became news, some celebs familiar with the show such as former judge Steven Tyler and former contestant Jennifer Hudson, have been very skeptical about the feud and claim is just a publicity stunt to draw viewers to the show.
