Friday's Scandal hangover is going to be extra hard for some fans after television creator Shonda Rhimes killed off Jake Ballard during Thursday night's new episode I'm Just A Bill.

During the new episode, after Olivia Pope, D.C.'s most famous crisis manager, refused to help her father Rowan Pope get rid of his problem, sadly Liv had to pay the consequences and viewers learned that Papa Pope had her boyfriend Jake Ballard killed.

While some fans have created their own scenarios to convince themselves that Jake is simply taking a nap or playing dead, the news has been confirmed that Livs beau is gone for good.

Scott Foley, the actor who plays Jake, took to Twitter on Thursday night to confirm the news and now Rhimes is receiving a lot of heat from sadden fans.

Clearly the drama is far from over and things will pick up exactly where the left off during next week's new episode.

In a sneak peek of the new episode, Liv and her teams learn about the devastating news and now Liv has to prepare herself to lose more loved ones if she doesn't help her dad.

Scandal airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. on ABC.
