A beloved character and actor who appeared on the classic CBS sitcom Good Times has died at the age of 64.

Ben Powers played Thelma's husband, Keith Anderson, on the final season of the show. The news has broke that the actor died April 6 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, according to People.

The publication revealed that no cause of death has yet been revealed.

According to the family obituary, Powers also played "Moochie" on the CBS hit-show Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer.

The obituary also described him as a "gifted artist" who loved animals and delighted everyone around him.

His kind and gentle temperament will be sorely missed," the obituary read.

People also reported that Powers was a pianist, composer and vocalist, all of these skills of which he incorporated into his comedy routines.

He was a regular stand-up comedian in Providence which attracted the attention of a Hollywood agent who gave him his big break. Powers then joined the cast of the comedy series, Laugh-In, in 1977 where he starred alongside Robin Williams.

Powers also made many guest appearanced on other hit-shows like The New Odd Couple, Laverne & Shirley and The Greatest American Hero.

Powers is survived by his mother and two sisters.

A memorial service and celebration of like for Powers is to be help on May 3rd at 6pm at First Tabernacle Church.
