The Top 10 for the current eighth season of The Voice was narrowed down Tuesday night to the Top 8.

Adam Levine had a close call as his remaining two contestants, Deanna Johnson and Joshua Davis, wound up needing to perform during the Instant Save segment, along with Christina Aguilera's contestant Rob Taylor.
Davis sang Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down," which can be watched below that earned America's praise since the public voted him through to the Top 8 over Johnson who sang "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and Taylor who sang "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay".

Johnson instantly hugged her teammate once it was announced he was saved, which can also be viewed below.
Davis was quick to get on Twitter to thank his fans that he so fondly calls Davis Nation.
"Thank you #DavisNation thank you!!" he gushed, while also sending his love to his now eliminated teammate Johnson as well as Taylor.
"Big love," he said while tagging the two newly eliminated contestants.
He went on to praise them, calling them "some of the finest singers and humans on earth."
Johnson told Davis, "you absolutely deserve to be there!"
Davis gets to continue his journey with his family close by. On Tuesday, he shared a photo of himself with his wife and children in their hotel room.
"It's the best thing in the world to have my family here," he revealed.
