During the gut-wrenching episode, fans had to say goodbye to longtime character Dr. Derek Shepherd after he was involved in a serious car crash that left him lifeless.
Dr. Shepherd, or to some, McDreamy, pulled over to help some injured civilians after witnessing a tragic accident. As fate would have it, while pulling away from the accident in his car, Shepherd reached down to look for his ringing cell phone and a huge truck then struck him.

In the last minutes of the episode, Dr. Shepherd's wife Meredith Grey, signs the papers to end his life after learning that her husband was brain dead.
Fans of the show are beyond upset with Rhimes about her decision to kill off Dempsey's character and she's receiving a lot of heat on Twitter.

Just like week, some Scandal fans also attacked Rhimes after viewers presumed that Jake Ballard was killed off. While Thursday night's new episode proved that everyone's worst nightmare was just a false alarm, sadly it doesn't look like it's going to happen that way for Derek.
