Michael Douglas is one actor who is living every day without any regrets. The Hollywood star has opened up about bouncing back after fighting stage-four cancer a few years ago and doing what he does best - and that's acting in front of the camera.

In a new interview with ABC News on Friday, Douglas says that he feels "lucky" to be acting in physically-demanding roles again after he lost nearly 40 pounds back in 2010 after he was diagnosed with throat cancer.

He said, "I was so lucky right after the cancer battle to have the 'Behind the Candelbra' experience, which was such a great package, great script, Soderbergh directing, Matt Damon. Combined with the fact that you know you've dodged a bullet."

He added, "I have a resurgence of energy and new appreciation for the work. I love what I'm doing."

Meanwhile, the actor has also opened up about his marriage to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.

According to People Magazine last week, Douglas told Ellen DeGeneres on his talk show that his bond with his Welsh-born wife has definitely strengthened following his battle with cancer and Zeta-Jones' struggle with bipolar II disorder.

He said, "It can't be a one-way street. But I'm crazy about her. And yeah, I think every couple has their difficult times. The only problem is, as you well know, we're all in the public eye, and it tends to get a little more exposed than most."

He added, "But we're back stronger than ever."
