Prior to the performance, McAndrew shared a photo of himself with Valentine in what appears to be their green room.

He also shared a photo of his name and Valentine's name on the door for the evening.

"It feels great to be back!" the rocker tweeted just a few hours before his performance.

His former coach was thrilled to have him back on The Voice and tweeted to his followers about buying the song on iTunes.

"WOW! What a performance," the Maroon 5 Twitter account gushed.

Other members of The Voice family also sent their love to McAndrew for his performance, including Taylor Phelan, Taylor John Williams and Chris Jamison, who all competed last season too.

Tune in on Mondays and Tuesdays starting at 8 p.m. ET for Season 8 of The Voice on NBC.
