‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Movie News: E.L. James Takes Full Creative Control Over ‘Darker’ & ‘Freed’ Sequels [VIDEO]
After a few delays, Universal Picture executives have finally announced the release dates for the new Fifty Shades sequels and production for both films is finally underway.

Last week, Access Hollywood reported that Fifty Shades Darker is set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017. Fifty Shades Freed will also arrive just in time for Valentine's Day on February 9, 2018.
Due to an ongoing feud between author E.L. James and former film direction Sam Taylor Johnson, production for the new sequel was delayed several times however James and execs at the film company were finally able to make a deal and now the author has complete creative control.

According to Cheatsheet, "Universal agreed to give author EL James unprecedented creative control over the movie adaptations."
The site reported that due to James' lack on experience has a screenwriter, she's hired her husband to take on the role.
The Hollywood Reporter announced that a source close to film's production team said that Niall Leonard has been appointed to the new position and apparently this isn't his first time working on the film.
According to the site, "He's written for the British TV shows Air Force One Is Down and Wire in the Blood, among others. He's also the author of the Crusher book series. He also worked on the script for the first Fifty Shades but was not credited."
Both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have confirmed that they will be returning for the new movies, so be sure to check in for updates on the cast and for more information about the film.
