Although recent reports claimed the Real Housewives of New Jersey star has met with a divorce lawyer while behind bars, her attorney has since set the record straight, claiming the reality pair has actually gotten closer since she began serving her 15-month prison term at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, CT.
"There's a lot of bad information out there," James J. Leonard, Jr. told PEOPLE Magazine on Thursday. "Every day there is another story out there about her and every day the stories are wrong."
Teresa Giudice Is Already Preparing For Her Prison Release
According to Leonard, Giudice never met with a divorce lawyer, nor has her marriage to Joe become strained. In fact, things between them are the opposite of strained -- they're great.
"I can state unequivocally that I am the only lawyer that Teresa has met with since she has been in prison," Leonard explained. "While we have discussed many things, we have never discussed her divorcing Joe. If anything, as bizarre as it may seem, this experience of them being apart has only brought them closer."
"She has also talked about her future with Joe and the girls," Leonard added.
The Giudices have been married for 15 years, and have four children together.
Teresa will be released from custody later this year, just ahead of the holidays, and her husband, Joe, will begin his 41-month term a short while later.
