According to Jana Bennett, President of FYI and LMN, the series was inspired by the "food porn" phenomenon happening on social media.

“People are obsessed with photographing, sharing and discussing the food they eat on social media,” said Bennett. “FYI will be capturing this convergence of mouth-watering food and social trends in a unique and entertaining format.”

The network alleged there were more than 50 million posts on Instagtam, which included the hash tag, "#foodporn," and that the phrase was tagged "nearly every two seconds" on Twitter.

Following news of the new series, Frankel told press, "I am excited to be a part of a series that will showcase the decadence and obsession people have with sharing their food online.”

For more Frankel, tune into The Real Housewives of New York City on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

No word yet on a premiere date for Food Porn.
