Furious 8 To Be Set In New York City?
The popular car game could definitely be in for a highly lucrative deal with such a marriage, Furious 7 has broken various records, both domestically and internationally. Recently, Deadline reported that the billion-dollar-making movie has set the benchmark ambitiously high for Fast and Furious 8.
The publication revealed that the movie crossed the billion dollar mark internationally and also left the record of Transformers 4: Age of Extinction in China behind too. The report added that this makes the movie the "third film in history" to hit that milestone. Avatar and Titanic are the other two. The movie has also officially claimed the pedestal of highest grossing movie in China.
Previously, Phil Contro, vice president and chief analyst at BoxOffice.com spoke to Business Insider about the predicted success of the film.
"This is definitely shaping up to be massive," he said. "With a movie like this, it's important not to get too carried away with expectations because ... in the lead up to a big movie, that's all people are talking about and it's easy to keep saying, 'it's going to be bigger, and bigger, and bigger.' That said, I think it has a legitimate shot at becoming the next member of the $1 billion global club."
Furious 7 hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
