The odds weren't necessarily in their favor going into what would be their last leg on The Amazing Race, but engaged couple Matt and Ashley believe a series of mistakes and one other team's actions may have contributed to their ultimate elimination.

'Fireworks' Spark Between Hayley and Blair

In a post-race interview with TV Guide, the couple revealed that Blind daters Laura and Tyler may have played a minor role in their elimination by telling them they were brought to the wrong Detour location during the leg--which put them further behind than they already were.

"We had no idea we were in the right place. And then Tyler and Laura said, 'I think they brought you to Papas,' which was the wrong place. But we were actually in the right place and we didn't see it," Matt said.

"But well played, Laura and Tyler, well played!" Ashley added.

"...I'm gonna say they did know and when Tyler saw us....when the lady dropped their potatoes and saw us, he probably panicked," Matt added.

However, the two do admit that there were mistakes they themselves made--so if there is any fault on part of Laura and Tyler, they admit it's a smaller amount.

"We blame ourselves because we listened to them. It's not their fault. We didn't have to listen," Matt said.

Regardless though, the couple does have their fond memories from the race, including their engagement in Thailand, and they say their wedding planning has officially begun.

"We have the date and the photographer and DJ and all that stuff," Matt said.

The Amazing Race airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
