The preview of season 3 of Arrow was recently unveiled and it strongly hints at the defeat of Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) at the hands of Oliver (Stephen Amell).

'Evil Oliver' Is 'Going Out Fighting' In Finale, Stephen Amell Teases

The clip teases the final battle in the episode, aptly titled 'My Name is Oliver Queen.' Oliver will be shunning the title of Al Sah-Him and reclaiming his original identity as Oliver Queen. From the latest episode we now know that joining the League of Assassins has all been an act for Oliver, who essentially intended to pretend to play for Ra's al Ghul's side so he could be in on his evil plans of destroying Starling City and beat Ra's al Ghul by being part of his system. In fact Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) is fully aware of Oliver's plan and will be helping him out in the process.

In the preview even the Flash (Grant Justin) makes an appearance informing the team that Oliver's in trouble.

Malcolm Merlyn To Spur Two Of The Biggest Twists In The Penultimate Episode

"The last thing you will see is your beloved city succumbing to disease and death," Ra's al Ghul says, most likely threatening Oliver. This is followed by a cut to a scene where both Oliver and Ra's al Ghul are ready to duel. Ra's al Ghul reprimands Oliver, telling him that he is Al Sah-Him. In reponse to this Oliver draws out his sword and thunders, "My name is Oliver Queen!"

It also seems like Oliver will finally save the day and take Ra's al Ghul down. As the executive producer of the series has also stated before that Ra's al Ghul is not necessarily invincible and that the show will not strictly adhere to the DC universe, which has bestowed the villain with immortality of sorts.

In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Marc Guggenheim suggested that they had the freedom to do with Ra's al Ghul as they pleased.

"The truth of the matter is that DC is our partner, and they've been a wonderful partner," he said. "They've never told us who has to die or who has to live - and I don't anticipate that changing any time soon. What we do with Ra's as far as whether or not he lives or dies will be based solely on a creative decision that we make for the good of the show, and has nothing to do with the greater forces at DC."

'My Name is Oliver Queen' will air on May 13 on The CW.
